As they say "use money wisely"

While I'm home and on my way to mall Im thinking of things I should buy for myself. Here comes the situation, while looking and turning this things I'm supposed to buy, I realized the value and worth of money. I decided not to buy it. Instead i got my self a good snack and paid a service for my cellphone which didn't cost me more than a 100 pesos. I know this is a common scenario among others.
I decided to go back home. While on my way, a thought popped in with a question "am I depriving myself?". So I decided to write something about this.

I am a thrifty person. For those who know me they would even say "super" or my thriftiness is too much. Thriftiness is defined as "careful use of material resources".It means saving and using wisely what you currently have for future consumption.

That makes sense right? I wanted to give importance to what I have right now. As they say," strike while the iron is hot". This is a good time to save up. It may not be a big amount, but, it is something when being saved will make a big difference.

I consulted the next person sitting next to me. I told her I am currently writing a blog regarding thriftiness. I told her the meaning of it. She disagreed on it and instead gave me her personal thought on that subject. She mentioned there is a big difference between being "thrifty" or "kuripot" or "too tight in money". That view point struck me. It made me ask myself "Is there really a big difference between the two????. She mentioned to me the difference based on her own idea. Being "thrifty" is spending money or resources wisely while being "kuripot" or "too tight" means depriving yourself to save up. Those makes sense for me.

Oftentimes, I can honestly say that im depriving of myself. I don't know If you will agree on this "Loving others must start from yourself". I realized that God gave me this physical body not to deprive it but to take care of it while we are living here on earth.

If being too "kuripot" is a crime, I already got arrested and put to jail. Thanks be to God, so far there is no such law as that. :)

I realized, saving doesn't have to go with "depriving".

Being careful with what we have will always give a good turnback to us.
