Save Today for Tomorrow

I started working when I was 18. I never thought of saving for a specific reason. I just saved. I spent my money soooo wisely to the point that I no longer think of buying what I want. In fact, I used a 4-year old phone (got a new one already on a cheaper price) and I rarely have new clothes and even to the point that I will store my money under my bed and cabinet (That's before I learned where to put money that can yield highest return). Ohh yes! I thought that's a wise thing to do. That's why people around me thought I'm a weird-stingy guy!!! (I can't blame them). Over the years, though my savings grew, I never had any other plans aside from saving. That's where my curiosity on "MAKING YOUR MONEY WORK FOR YOU" began. Some of the books I read were "Rich Dad Poor Dad, Til Debt Do Us Part and 8 secrets of Truly Rich by Bo Sanchez. These books really enlightened me on the real world of money, how it can work for you and not against you, money mindsets and the spiritual side of it an soooo on. And so this curiosity led me to wrong decisions as well. But I guess that's really part of the journey. Now, I can say that I already grew when it comes to financial literacy and is still growing and learning. As what my mentor, Tito Benj said "Knowledge without action is Useless" .

Being Rich is not bad as opposed to what other religious people are saying. It's what you do with the money that makes it bad. As long as you have a good purpose then it's a good one. I believe that God doesn't want His people to be poor. He has given us the ability to create wealth. "But remember the LORD your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth..." Deuteronomy 8:18 . Planning, having right mindset and right Action will give you success. In the end, it's not about the money but It's who we become in the process. Have we become a good steward of what God had entrusted to us?

I'm currently 22 and I'm planning to retire in my 40's. By that time I no longer want to work for money because I have to but because I want to. To give to God more than what is expected. To provide well for my family and to live my life for God happily.

I'm still far from my goal. But as they say " Do it slowly but surely".

No Condemnation

There are so many things in life that could lead us into condemnation. Sometimes they are the wrong things that we did in the past and the one's that just happened. This is common as well in the bible. Remember the story of the woman who was caught in adultery? Yeah! that story.

The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought in a woman caught in adultery. They made her stand before the group 4 and said to Jesus, “Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery. 5 In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say?” 6 They were using this question as a trap, in order to have a basis for accusing him. John 8:3-6

I can't imagine the feeling of being stoned (regardless whether it's a small stone or big stone).
Thank God that doesn't happen anymore. Anyway, what Jesus said was really amazing...

So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. John 8:7 KJV

After Jesus said this, the people went away slowly leaving the woman with Him. Jesus could have said to the woman "Why did you do that?", "Don't you know it's a big mistake?". But instead, He showed grace, He never condemned the woman.

Once we are forgiven by the Father we know that He will never condemn us.
"For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities WILL I REMEMBER NO MORE. Heb 8:12 KJV

Be Blessed,

Ryan

Understand Your Anger

Understand Your Anger
by Rick Warren

"In your anger do not sin; when you are on your beds, search your hearts and be silent." Psalm 4:4 (NIV)

"Anger is a choice. And when you get angry is because you've chosen to be angry."

We need to understand that there's a difference between sinful anger and legitimate anger; between appropriate anger and inappropriate anger; between helpful anger and hurtful anger.

Anger is not necessarily wrong. It's not always bad. What makes it different is why you got angry and what you do with those feelings.

Ask yourself, "What am I angry about? Why am I so upset?"

It's very important that you understand this: Anger is never the root problem. There is always a deeper issue. Anger is simply an emotional reaction to one of three primary emotions. If you want to understand your anger you've got to find out which of these three you are feeling, and maybe it's a combination of all three. It's important that you know this because it's much easier to deal with the roots than it is to deal with anger itself. When you get angry it's either because:

1. You are hurt - either physically or emotionally.
2. You are frustrated - Things don't seem to be turning out the way you want them to. When you're angered by frustration, ask yourself two questions: Would getting angry change the situation? Is it really worth being upset over?
3. You fear something - you feel threatened or insecure.

When you focus on the real cause, it's easier to control your anger.

The fact is, you can't eliminate hurt and frustration and fear from your lives. They're inevitable. But you can learn to deal with these things without becoming upset. Anger is a choice. And when you get angry is because you've chosen to be angry.
You might be saying, "You don't understand. When I get angry, I can't control it." As Christians, we have Christ's power in us to help us learn to control our anger.

Healing Choices: Don’t Give Temptation Power

Healing Choices: Don’t Give Temptation Power
by Rick Warren

"Run from anything that stimulates youthful lusts. Instead, pursue righteous living, faithfulness, love, and peace" (2 Timothy 2:22 NLT).

Have you ever watched a food advertisement on television and suddenly felt you were hungry? Have you ever heard someone cough and immediately felt the need to clear your throat? Ever watched someone release a big yawn and felt the urge to yawn yourself?

This is the power of suggestion working within your mind. We naturally move toward whatever our attention is focused on. The more you think about something, the stronger it takes hold of you, which is why the Bible teaches that we should, "Run from anything that stimulates youthful lusts. Instead, pursue righteous living, faithfulness, love, and peace" (2 Timothy 2:22 NLT).

That is why repeating, "I must stop eating too much . . . or stop smoking . . . or stop lusting" is a self-defeating strategy. It keeps you focused on what you don’t want. It's like announcing, "I'm never going to do what my mom did." You are setting yourself up to repeat it.

Temptation begins by capturing your attention. What gets your attention arouses your emotions. Then your emotions activate your behavior, and you act on what you feel. The more you focus on "I don’t want to do this," the stronger temptation draws you into its web.

Ignoring a temptation is far more effective than fighting it. Once your mind is on something else, the temptation loses its power. So when temptation calls you on the phone, don't argue with it, just hang up!

Sometimes this means physically leaving a tempting situation. This is one time it is okay to run away. Get up and turn off the television set. Walk away from a group that is gossiping. Leave the theater in the middle of the movie.

To avoid being stung, stay away from the bees!

Get up!

In every failure, it's not about what causes you to fall, it's all about getting your ass up back on the game.

Don't QUIT

While browsing, I suddenly passed by this poem. Although I have read this few years ago, still it's meaning struck me.

....

DONT QUIT

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest, if you must, but don't you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don't give up though the pace seems slow--
You may succeed with another blow.

Often the goal is nearer than,
It seems to a faint and faltering man,
Often the struggler has given up,
When he might have captured the victor's cup,
And he learned too late when the night slipped down,
How close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out--
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far,
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit--
It's when things seem worst that you must not quit.

It's not because of who you are..

It's not because of who we are.. but who He is.

God remains faithful even though sometimes man don't.

thinking as impossible

"Thinking things as IMPOSSIBLE is the result of our limited mind"

Oftentimes, we tend to believe on ourselves that other things are impossible to happen. We are convinced because that is what usually are mind says.

God says "For my thoughts are not your thoughts...As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts." Isaiah 55:8-9

Now we know, why ALL things are possible to God.

God has unlimited mind which causes Him to produce unlimited and wonderful things.

Don's rely on your limited mind. Instead, start to believe in God who can do all things.

don't be shaken

UNSHAKABLE

I was deeply blessed when this topic was discussed. This is so timely with what we are currently experiencing right now.

Foundation is so important in every area of our life. It is the one who holds us.

Now we can see how the evil is shaking the earth. Notice what's happening in our world? It brings fear to people. Fear for his/her business, money, marriage, relationship, health, security and many more.

The answer is not hard to find.

The only foundation that we can built our house into is Jesus. He is the true rock.

"Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock.Matthew 7:25

Jesus has already paid the price for it. He has given us his life in order for us to have an abundant life. All you need to do is receive.

God has already forgiven us while we are sinners. He has given up His only Son for us. How much more now that you are the Son of God.

God loves you.

Father,

Thank you for your unshakable love. Thank you for Jesus, our one and only true rock. We believe Lord that you have blessed our life. We know that whatever is happening right now, things may be shaking us up causing us to stumble but we take hold of what Jesus did on the cross. Thank you Jesus because everything was finished when you died for us. Thank you Father for the strength. We will not be shaken because of Jesus.

In Jesus name.
Amen

why we are blessed...

15th July

I have to construct this post again. I was just previewing my draft and when I hit the back button It went out. Anyway it's on my heart! I can do it again.

"Blessing"

We often encounter this word from other people and we even say this.

We say this when we get something without working for it or something we can say as a gift fell from heaven.

In our daily life, though it maybe painful whats happening around, we have to be thankful of those blessings that we are receiving.

We also have to respond to that. As we are being blessed, we have to share it to other people. When you have much you have to give much.

Let me become specific. "Money", according to the bible "for the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil..."1 Timothy 6:10. It means there is a proper use of it. If God entrusted you with it, don't you think there's a reason why? There is.

There are many blessings we are receiving in different forms.

Wisdom, I can say this is such a blessing. It was not meant for us alone, this should be shared as well to other people. See how big the difference it could make.

Before, i used to ask God why things has to be taken away from me after receiving blessings from me. I even came to a point where I thought God was taking things back from me because I am selfish. I was wrong. I realized that He has blessed me in order to be a blessing to other people as well.

"Give, and you will receive. A large quantity, pressed together, shaken down, and running over will be put into your pocket. The standards you use for others will be applied to you. Luke 6:38"

We can never out give God.

a blessing

15th of July,

I honestly don't know what to put here right know. I cannot think of any topic.
There maybe no topic on my mind but I have thoughts I can share.

I am sure you are familiar with the word blessing. It is an expression of God's grace. Blessings are often evaluated as big or small. No matter what it is or how big it is.. it is still a blessing from above. I was fed with the saying " the more you receive the more you have to give" hmmmm... sounds exciting right? Yes. specially in receiving more from God. But how many people would give out as they receive much? hmmm? I don't know.

Would you believe that the more you give the more you receive?
That's true. Ever wonder why you have that blessings? It's for you to bless other people and in return Christ will continue to bless you. Before, I would ask God why things happen where it seems like the blessings He has given to me was being taken back and sometimes a question "why do I have to give out?" Now, I realized that God is using me to be a blessing to other people.

This verse would say a lot on how God measures his blessing that He can give " Give, and you will receive. A large quantity, pressed together, shaken down, and running over will be put into your pocket. The standards you use for others will be applied to you. Luke 6:38

He will bless us until it OVERFLOWS.

Remember, We can never out give God.

Delight yourself in His presence

Ps 37:4: Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart.

I've encountered this verse today for 3 times. This is such a wonderful verse.

There are two words that are being emphasized in these verse. The word "delight" and "desires".

In definition, delight means "to feel or take joy or pleasure" while the word desire is defined as "a strong wanting of what promises enjoyment or pleasure".

Many of us has his or her own desires in life. It could be for our family, self, future and current situations. Sometimes we lean on our own capabilities. Whatever it is I'm sure you are so eager to know on how those desires can be fulfilled.

It was clearly stated in the verse, you only have to delight in the presence of God. You don't have to swim the widest ocean, jump in the tallest building, or pay a large sum of money. Though some of our desires can be fulfilled by money. We should also consider the things that are "pleasing" to God.

It was strongly mentioned that God will GIVE the desires or the things we long for in our hearts. I'm sure you know that "NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE TO GOD". If you think the desires you have in your heart is too impossible, then It's time for you to hold on to this promise, "...he will give the desires of our hearts". Satan wouldn't do this. If we delighted our self into evil and worldly things the devil will surely be happy. Yes? but do you think he will give the desires of our hearts ?No. The devil wants the people to suffer and to be deceived by material things for them not to see the things God has promised.

Enjoy the presence of God. Have fear in Him. Do things that you know will please him. In God there is joy, fulfillment and He knows what those desires are. Remember, God created the world and even gave his son JESUS for us, what else can he not do???...

You are blessed.

Mother's day...an ordinary day

This is the first time I will be writing for someone who is really close to my heart. A mother's day celebration for me has always been like just an ordinary day. I am aware what is being celebrated but the feeling doesn't really sink in to me. I don't feel the excitement every time that event is approaching.

I am not used to greeting my mom and even my grandmother a "happy mother's day". It's not that I don't acknowledge and appreciate their efforts and love. It's just that I never grew up with a "sweet mushy talk" moment with them.

I grew up with my grandmother. I call her "nanay" while I call my mom "ate". Yes, I call her "ate" even though I know she is my real mom. I don't know If that would create an issue.

I remember myself growing up with my lola. There were so many happy and sad memories stocked on my mind. I guess this spot wouldn't be enough If I will be typing them all.

*When I was a kid, I would always ask her to buy me a bicycle but she wouldn't do so. She was afraid that I might get into an accident and so on.

*Since I am "malikot" and "iyakin", she would always place me in a "batya" while doing her laundry. (According to my lola)

* My grandparents used to have a stall in Alabang Supermarket. I am always crying whenever they would go to Divisoria to buy some stocks. She would give me a 5 peso bill to buy something for myself and maybe for me to stop crying. Once they are gone, I would go to the nearest store and buy a "chichirya" (artista lang pala hehehe).

* I remember our driver waking me up every midnight after going to Divisoria just to give me a jolly spaghetti with a 1 liter coke which came from my lola.

* Everytime she will call me from the "kapitbahay" she would always shout my name "huuuuuuuuuu ayan". (I don't know what's with the whoooooo...hehe)

* I remember her worrying where she will get my monthly school fee.

* I guess from the day I started schooling, she was the one who washes my clothes even during my college days. Not only that. she cooks, fix my room and prepare my "baon".

I may never be as expressive as what other people are but I know that in my heart I am grateful that I have someone like her. :)

As they say "use money wisely"

While I'm home and on my way to mall Im thinking of things I should buy for myself. Here comes the situation, while looking and turning this things I'm supposed to buy, I realized the value and worth of money. I decided not to buy it. Instead i got my self a good snack and paid a service for my cellphone which didn't cost me more than a 100 pesos. I know this is a common scenario among others.
I decided to go back home. While on my way, a thought popped in with a question "am I depriving myself?". So I decided to write something about this.

I am a thrifty person. For those who know me they would even say "super" or my thriftiness is too much. Thriftiness is defined as "careful use of material resources".It means saving and using wisely what you currently have for future consumption.

That makes sense right? I wanted to give importance to what I have right now. As they say," strike while the iron is hot". This is a good time to save up. It may not be a big amount, but, it is something when being saved will make a big difference.

I consulted the next person sitting next to me. I told her I am currently writing a blog regarding thriftiness. I told her the meaning of it. She disagreed on it and instead gave me her personal thought on that subject. She mentioned there is a big difference between being "thrifty" or "kuripot" or "too tight in money". That view point struck me. It made me ask myself "Is there really a big difference between the two????. She mentioned to me the difference based on her own idea. Being "thrifty" is spending money or resources wisely while being "kuripot" or "too tight" means depriving yourself to save up. Those makes sense for me.

Oftentimes, I can honestly say that im depriving of myself. I don't know If you will agree on this "Loving others must start from yourself". I realized that God gave me this physical body not to deprive it but to take care of it while we are living here on earth.

If being too "kuripot" is a crime, I already got arrested and put to jail. Thanks be to God, so far there is no such law as that. :)

I realized, saving doesn't have to go with "depriving".

Being careful with what we have will always give a good turnback to us.
